Ahmet Murat Üstünsürmeli is the man credited with bringing proper Antep-style baklava to London — opened the original Grand Parade shop in 1993 and grew the Antepliler group across four neighbouring units: the baklava shop, a sit-down restaurant, a künefe café and a lahmacun-and-pide counter. The pistachio fıstıklı baklava is the order — buttery yufka, syrup-restrained, pistachios from Antep itself. Regulars knows this address from family in London — the standard against which every other London baklava fails. Best Turkish patisserie outside Türkiye on this stretch, full stop.
