Terra Cotta is an active ceramics studio on the Paşadayı square in Hacımemiş, where the pastel-glazed bowls, vases and plates on the shelves are thrown and fired in the same room. It runs hands-on pottery sessions for visitors, so the place is as much workshop as shop, with the wheel and kiln doing the talking. The output has a consistent, considered palette rather than the catch-all tourist mix. For anyone who wants to buy a piece made where they're standing, this is the honest version.
