Mayfair
Chet Sharma's one-Michelin-star Mayfair Indian, the JKS room that reframed regional Indian cooking in 2021.
A patinated 18th-century courtroom turned dining room, Clerkenwell's most photographed kitchen
Sessions Arts Club opened in 2021 inside the old judges' dining room at Sessions House on Clerkenwell Green, a Grade II*-listed Georgian courtroom left in deliberate ruin, with peeling plaster, antique chandeliers and a near-mythic afternoon light. Florence Knight launched the kitchen; Abigail Hill took over in early 2024 and runs a tight Mediterranean-leaning menu that does not compete with the room's drama. Mostly-members-now but a public allocation runs at lunch and from 17:30. The defining set-piece dining room of the East-edge axis.
The two o'clock lunch slot is when the courtroom light hits the back wall, the audience photograph this room with reason. Non-members book through the website; weekends release Tuesday morning. The lift up is part of the entrance choreography; do not skip it.
