The Peninsula Paris

The 1908 Hôtel Majestic — venue for the 1973 Paris Peace Accords — reopened in 2014 as Hong Kong group Peninsula's Paris flagship after a four-year, 750-million-euro restoration. Palace-classified, 200 rooms and 86 suites, it occupies a full Haussmannian block off the Arc de Triomphe. The rooftop L'Oiseau Blanc sits in the dome with a Sopwith biplane sculpture and full Eiffel-Tower-to-Sacré-Cœur view; LiLi serves Cantonese fine dining; afternoon tea in Le Lobby runs on a Limoges-and-pastry rhythm. The 1,800-square-metre spa with a 22-yard indoor pool is one of the city's largest.
