The Connaught
Mayfair
The Mayfair townhouse hotel — three Michelin stars in the dining room, the world's best bar downstairs, and the address that defines W1.
Corbin and King's 1920s-styled Mayfair townhouse — a 73-room Art Deco hotel with an Antony Gormley sculpture you can sleep inside.
The Beaumont opened in 2014 on Balderton Street — a Jeremy King and Chris Corbin project conceived as the small hotel they wanted to build alongside the Wolseley restaurant business. 73 rooms, Art Deco from the lobby out, a Colony Grill Room that runs the same 1920s Manhattan brief as the Wolseley itself, and the Antony Gormley ROOM — a sculpture cantilevered off the front of the building that you can book as a suite. Voted #1 hotel in London by Condé Nast Traveler readers in 2025. The discreet alternative to Claridge's for the audience that wants smaller, calmer, less-photographed.
Book the ROOM suite once for the Gormley experience — it is a sealed dark cube to sleep in, attached to a normal Junior Suite for living — or a standard Mayfair Suite for the conventional stay. Colony Grill Room is one of the better hotel restaurants in London for breakfast and a late dinner; the Magritte Bar is small and underused.
