The Chiado mother house of Manteigaria, set in a 1900 Art Nouveau building on the corner of Largo do Chiado, bakes its pastel de nata in continuous batches you can watch through the glass. Warm, caramelised, dusted with cinnamon at the marble counter. The category pick that does the archetype better than the famous tourist queues.
