Fokai Balık Restaurant
Eski Foça's harbourside fish house since 1984
An old harbour fishing town north of İzmir, built for slow seafront fish lunches.
Foça is an old fishing town north of the city, built around a sheltered harbour and a waterfront of pastel stone houses that have drawn İzmir weekenders for generations. The seafront is lined with fish restaurants and meze tables, and the rhythm is genuinely about eating slowly by the water and walking the lanes afterward. Beyond the harbour are coves and the rocky islets that gave the ancient town its name. It feels less polished than Urla and more of a straightforward seaside escape.
