The Porto district fronts the working waterfront, where the ferries to Capri and the ocean liners come and go and the Angevin keep of the Castel Nuovo anchors the skyline near Piazza Municipio. It is also, improbably, where Naples does its grandest dining: the Caracciolo and harbour-edge hotels host the rarefied, Michelin-starred end of the city at Alain Ducasse's Il Ristorante and the panoramic Aria.
