Set in Daniel Knuttel's former Rijkspostspaarbank and music conservatory, reworked by architect Piero Lissoni into a luminous design hotel beside the Museum Quarter. Rooms are spacious and architectural, the Akasha spa runs over 1,000 square metres, and Schilo van Coevorden's Taiko restaurant is a destination in its own right. A true design institution rather than a view-first tower.
