Baluard Barceloneta
Barceloneta
Wood-fired artisan bakery in the fishermen's quarter
A working piece of Barcelona history, this marble-counter granja has served thick hot chocolate, mel i mató and its own Cacaolat since 1870. Generations of locals still come for breakfast and merienda in the wood-panelled room. It is a living institution, not a museum piece.
Founded 1870; birthplace of Cacaolat
