Antica Trattoria della Gigina
Bologna (Arcoveggio)
Since 1956: Gigina's tagliatelle and a 300-label cellar
Since 1918, under the arch to San Luca's portico
One of Bologna's oldest osterie, open since 1918 directly beneath the Arco del Meloncello where the portico to San Luca begins. Handmade tortelloni, tagliatelle and gramigna al ragù, roasts and zuppa inglese define the menu, under walls of actors' and musicians' autographs. A genuine local institution, not a city-centre canteen.
Frequented by locals over tourists despite its landmark setting; the ragù has a devoted following.
