Siesta Restaurant Gümüşlük

Siesta opened in 1991 in the middle of the Gümüşlük waterfront and has worked the same room ever since — accommodation row on one side, the line of fish restaurants on the other, the sea a metre from the deck. The signature is the white-painted wooden tables with navy cushions and the locally-made decorative gourds (the village's traditional craft) hung over the terrace. The kitchen is steady Aegean — sea beans, grilled calamari, grilled octopus, the house Siesta special — and the wine list runs short but careful.
