Henri Negresco's 1913 belle-époque landmark on the Promenade des Anglais remains one of the last fully independent five-star palaces in France, its Royal Lounge crowned by a 16,309-crystal Baccarat chandelier commissioned for Tsar Nicholas II. An art-stuffed, idiosyncratic institution rather than a corporate flag, and home to Le Chantecler.
