Le Faubourg

Owner Dominique has run Le Faubourg out of a Kirchenstrasse townhouse since 1997, and the wisteria climbing the front (one of Munich's oldest, by his account) tells you everything about the time signature inside. Twelve tables, candles, a chalkboard menu that leans southern French — scallops with truffle jus, lamb carré with olive crust, the kind of plat du jour that arrives without ceremony and is exactly right. Dominique works the room himself with a French accent he has not lost in twenty-eight years.
