Poetry-inspired meyhane in a century-old garden
Dead-end alley meyhane with vinyl records and cinema nostalgia
Operating since 2011 in a dead-end alley, Piraye's walls are covered in photos of cinema, music, and literature icons while vinyl records play. One of Kadıköy's most atmospheric traditional meyhanes, where the raki flows as freely as the conversation.
The dead-end alley is part of the experience; don't expect a sign or signage. Order the rakı setup with cold mezes and let the host pace the kitchen — they will. The vinyl records are not theme dressing, they're the actual house music; ask what's on if a song catches you. Reserve for 21:00, not earlier.
