Kuntra Wine Bar
İzmir's serious wine room with ~100 labels in Karşıyaka
İzmir's calmer residential shore across the gulf, built around ferry rides and sunset promenades.
Reached by a short ferry across the gulf, Karşıyaka and the quieter Bostanlı next door feel like İzmir's relaxed residential mirror of Alsancak. The Bostanlı seafront has long stretches of café-lined promenade where the sunset draws families and students, and a celebrated wooden pier deck for watching the light go down. The Çarşı bazaar streets are good for unfussy lokantas, fish counters and the city's famous baklava, while the side streets hide easygoing wine spots. It is calmer and more local than the opposite shore, and the ferry crossing itself is part of the pleasure.
