Cafe A Brasileira
Chiado
1905 Chiado coffeehouse, Pessoa's old terrace
Operating on Praça da Figueira since 1829 and still in the founding family, Confeitaria Nacional is the oldest pastelaria in the city — a tiled-facade, mirror-and-chandelier room that introduced Bolo Rei to Portugal and supplies the Presidency to this day. Its pastel de nata is among the most respected in town. A living institution, not a museum piece.
