Garden-grown Santorinian plates at a working winery
Creative Mediterranean plates inside a century-old canava
Set in a restored 1920s winery up a stair-lane off the Pyrgos square, Cava Alta pairs a vaulted cave dining room with a rooftop terrace open to the sea. Owners Minas and his Spanish wife send out a daily-changing menu that crosses Cycladic and Cretan roots with Spanish accents, from oxtail-filled donuts to fish ceviche. The wine list is deep in Assyrtiko and Greek labels.
Dinner only, closed Sundays. Ask for a rooftop table at sunset and book ahead in season.
