Set on a pier over the turquoise water at Çark Plajı, the Alaçatı Port waterfront, Ahali is unmistakably a chef's restaurant - Altuğ Tezer cooks seasonally from local producers, with the appetisers and hot small plates (the artichoke salad, the squid katmer) doing the heavy lifting. It is the substance-led alternative to the port's dancing-meyhane and beach-club strip, where the kitchen, not the playlist, is the point.
