Taverna del Capitano

A pebble cove at the peninsula's tip and the birthplace of spaghetti alla Nerano, eaten at the water's edge.
Marina del Cantone is a pebble cove at the tip of the Sorrentine peninsula, and for serious eaters it means one thing above all: spaghetti alla Nerano, the dish of fried zucchini and Provolone del Monaco that was born on this beach. Lo Scoglio da Tommaso, run by the same family for generations and fed by its own garden and fishing boats, is something of a place of pilgrimage, plates of raw seafood and that emerald pasta served right at the water's edge. Up the rocks, Taverna del Capitano keeps a Michelin star and a more composed tasting menu, while Maria Grazia claims to have invented the zucchini spaghetti in the first place. It is a small, unhurried bay that punches far above its size.
