Opened in 1936 and remodelled in the 1960s, Gambrinus is old Lisbon distilled — wood panelling, a horseshoe bar and white-jacketed waiters serving classical Portuguese seafood, partridge pie and crêpes Suzette to a quietly serious clientele. It holds a Repsol Sun and treats the dining room as a real operational craft. The standout on an otherwise tourist-saturated street.
