A classic Spanish tapas counter on Dean Street — bar seating only, no reservations, and a queue is part of the deal. Barrafina is one of London's most established tapas addresses, serving a carefully judged version of gambas al ajillo, jamón ibérico and tortilla. It's worth the hour's wait.

The Devonshire has been the most talked-about opening of the last two years, and everything from the way the Guinness is poured to the classic Sunday roast is treated with real seriousness.
