Opened in 1931 behind an unassuming Rua de Passos Manuel facade, this is one of Porto's grand old dining rooms, lined with Delft-style azulejos and 18th-century ceremony. The kitchen holds the city's classics: tripas à moda do Porto, roast kid, sole with capers, salt cod many ways. A genuine institution that has hosted kings and never chased fashion.
