Set in the former French Consulate on the Kordon, a 1906 building by Galata Tower restorer Raymond Charles Péré, Arkas Sanat shows the 900-plus-work Lucien Arkas collection of modern and contemporary Turkish art plus two to three visiting exhibitions a year. Admission is free. It is İzmir's most serious city-centre art institution and a genuine cultural anchor.
