Opened in 1943 by the Giugliano family and named for its spot near the central station, Mimi has fed Toto, Eduardo De Filippo and Gianni Agnelli across four generations. Waiters in double-breasted jackets still bring out the canon, genovese, puparuol 'mbuttunat, seafood pasta, while great-grandson Salvatore Giugliano keeps the kitchen honest. A living monument to the city's table.

Editor's Tip

The room and the service are half the experience. Order the genovese. Near Piazza Garibaldi, so the block is scruffy, the food is not.
