Batignolles & Étoile
MOF chef, 1-Michelin, Parisian-apartment dining on rue Bayen.
1900 Bois de Boulogne pavilion — Michelin star since 1965, Empire and Belle Époque rotunda.
Built for the 1900 Universal Exhibition and converted to a restaurant the same year, La Grande Cascade combines Empire, Belle Époque and Art Nouveau in a rotunda dining room with a terrace open onto the Bois. Frédéric Robert (L'Ambroisie, Le Vivarois, Lucas-Carton) runs a classical kitchen and the Michelin star has been continuous since 1965 — six decades unbroken. Guide 2025 retains it. The terrace in summer is one of the great Paris experiences: forest, peacocks, formal service, no city noise. For an Istanbul visitor who wants the sister-property to Pré Catelan at one star and a less ceremonial price, La Grande Cascade is the answer.
Lunch on the terrace (May-September) is the seat. Taxi access only.
