One of the most discussed openings in recent Thessaloniki, Iliopetra is the gastro-taverna of chef Giorgos Zannakis and Vassia Gambrani. Respect for the raw material is the stated pillar, but Zannakis seasons hard with spice and invention, turning taverna staples into something more experimental. A marble-mosaic floor, black-and-white photos and a wide-open kitchen keep the mood friendly and unbuttoned.
