South African chef Jan Hendrik's intimate one-star room on the old port
Chef Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen runs a 20-seat Michelin-starred room (confirmed in the 2026 Guide) just off Port Lympia, the first South African to win the award. A single personal set menu plays sweet-sour, smoky and acidic registers, with an across-the-street cheese bar of some twenty cheeses. Calm, vision-led and deeply chef-owned rather than touristic.
