Berlin's classic political power-lunch — Wiener Schnitzel since 1893.
Berlin's media-and-art steakhouse on the Spree — see-and-be-seen 2026.
Grill Royal is the steakhouse Stephan Landwehr and Boris Radczun opened on Friedrichstraße in 2006 — a Spree-facing dining room with bone-in cuts on the menu, a wine list with serious depth, and a clientele that has stayed the most photogenic in Berlin for two decades. The room is dark, the lighting is exclusively candle and pendant, the walls hold contemporary photography in the gallery register. The kitchen is steakhouse-modern and the booking is the point — film festival weeks, fashion-week visits, the wider visiting-media-class crowd defaults here. Regulars use Grill Royal for the second-night Berlin dinner that is meant to be seen rather than studied.
Book two weeks ahead; later seatings (21:30 onward) carry more of the room's signature pulse. The downstairs Royal Bar runs after the kitchen closes.
