Konstantin Filippou
Innere Stadt
Two Michelin stars in the Innere Stadt — Austrian-Greek precision since 2013.
Two Michelin stars in Brigittenau — a family kitchen forty years in.
Markus Mraz opened his family room in the 20. Bezirk in 1986; his sons Lukas and Manuel now run the kitchen and have held the second Michelin star in the Austria 2026 guide. The setting is deliberately unflashy — a single Wallensteinstraße building on the unfashionable side of the Danube Canal — and the cooking is among the most ingredient-led in the city. Foraging notes drive the seasonal menu (the family runs a kitchen garden), fermentation is part of the vocabulary, and the wine list reads as a love letter to small Austrian growers. The room seats twenty-four; the kitchen is open. For the audience that values the cooking over the postcode, this is the Vienna table.
The 20. Bezirk location keeps the booking easier than Filippou or Steirereck — four weeks usually works. Take a tram or a ten-minute taxi from the Innere Stadt.
