Hacımemiş
Oktay Durna's three-thousand-piece Anatolian glass collection, housed in a Hacımemiş stone room
Alaçatı's first gallery, where the village's painters and ceramicists have shown since 2005
Sayra İnce Muran opened Alaçatı's first proper art space here in 2005, two restored stone houses facing each other across a back lane, one a gallery, the other a small kitchen. The walls rotate work by Turkish and visiting painters, photographers and ceramicists, and the summer group shows have become a fixture for the village's serious collectors rather than its day-trippers. It predates the boutique wave and still treats the art as the point, not the backdrop. A genuine cultural address in a town that mostly trades on its facades.
