Oktay Durna's three-thousand-piece Anatolian glass collection, housed in a Hacımemiş stone room
Eskiden occupies a fine old stone building in Hacımemiş and is really one collector's life's work made browsable. Owner Oktay Durna has spent three decades gathering Anatolian glassware — carboys, carafes, jars and vases alongside wooden dough troughs, doors and lighting — and will tell you the history of family glass from Turkey's first workshop if you ask. The pieces are authentic antiques, not reproductions, and the room reads more like a private museum than a gift shop. A genuine destination for anyone who cares about Aegean material culture.
