Oktay Durna's three-thousand-piece Anatolian glass collection, housed in a Hacımemiş stone room
Eskiden occupies a fine old stone building in Hacımemiş and is really one collector's life's work made browsable. Owner Oktay Durna has spent three decades gathering Anatolian glassware, carboys, carafes, jars and vases alongside wooden dough troughs, doors and lighting, and will tell you the history of family glass from Turkey's first workshop if you ask. The pieces are authentic antiques, not reproductions, and the room reads more like a private museum than a gift shop. A genuine destination for anyone who cares about Aegean material culture.
