Selanik has held its Ugur Mumcu Caddesi corner since 1945 and is now run by the third generation, building everything around the damla sakizi the peninsula's groves still yield. The reference order is the sakizli dondurma, hand-cut, mastic from Chios-and-Cesme stock, no stabiliser shortcuts, alongside a honey-walnut ice cream, the village's standard sakiz-cevizli kurabiye, milk puddings, salep and a line of house mastic paste and jams sold to take home. It reads as a plain neighbourhood pastane rather than a flower-wall photo stop, which is the point: locals and rooted second-homers treat it as the everyday mastic source while the tour groups queue elsewhere. Open late into the season, prices written for a village counter, not for the bazaar.
