Köstem Zeytinyağı Müzesi
Tokoğlu
The world's largest olive oil museum — a Klazomenai mill replica, a working modern press, a restaurant and a shop, seventeen kilometres from Alaçatı
The mastic park north of the village — the peninsula's only living gallery of Pistacia lentiscus and the Sakız Ağacım revival project's home
Sakız Ağacım Çeşme planted twenty-five thousand mastic trees across the peninsula over two seasons; the public face of the project is this park at the junction of 5000. and 6000. Sokak, north of the village centre, where Pistacia lentiscus is laid out the way a botanic garden lays out a collection — labelled, walkable, shaded by carob and fig. Information panels track the resin's harvest, the 16th-19th century Çeşme economy that ran on it, and the wartime collapse that nearly ended it. Free, quiet, twenty minutes that recontextualise every sakızlı dondurma cup on the trip.
Walk it at 17:30 — the late-day light is the right one for the resin droplets the trees push between June and September, and the panels read better without the midday glare. Pair with a Rumeli sakızlı dondurma on the way back to the marina; the loop closes itself.
