Café Jasmin
Maxvorstadt
An untouched 1955 café interior — Maxvorstadt time-capsule
Franz Marc and Thomas Mann's old table — 1887 literary café, restored
Opened in 1887 as Munich's artist meeting point at the turn of the last century — Franz Marc and Thomas Mann were both regulars. The 115-year-old building's stucco, chandeliers and ivory-toned neoclassical Vienna-coffeehouse atmosphere were recently restored. Despite the name, the address sits on the Maxvorstadt side of Schellingstraße. All-day from breakfast through dinner.
Name is misleading — the postcode 80799 is on the Maxvorstadt side. The strongest address on the university stretch of Schellingstraße.
