Café Jasmin
Maxvorstadt
An untouched 1955 café interior — Maxvorstadt time-capsule
1950s Speisecafé in a former Tracht shop — the quarter's living room
Reichenbachstrasse 47 was a traditional Bavarian-clothing store called Trachten Vogl until 2003, when the new owners kept the name (welded into one word), the wooden cabinets, the cuckoo clocks, and the alpine oil paintings, and turned it into a Speisecafé. Mismatched 1950s sofas and armchairs, thirty kinds of hot chocolate, Astra on tap, breakfast that drifts into brunch and brunch into dinner. It is exactly what the rest of Glockenbach is trying to be without trying.
Order the hot chocolate menu before the food menu. Cash and card. Go early on weekends — locals queue.
