Weinhaus Neuner
Altstadt-Lehel
Munich's oldest wine house, restored 15th-century vaulted rooms
1904 Trieste merchant-shop interior, Veneto-Friuli-Campania osteria
When the Vinaiolo team opened on Steinstrasse, they bought an entire 1904 merchant shop in Trieste, dismantled it, drove it to Munich, and rebuilt it. Glass-fronted cabinets, original wooden counter, ceiling moldings — the room is the menu's argument. The kitchen cooks the lesser-known regional Italian — Friulian frico, Campanian seafood, Veneto bigoli — with a wine list that goes deep into orange, natural, and small-grower bottlings most Munich Italians don't carry. The address that locals send their visiting Italian friends to.
Ask about the regional special — the kitchen rotates Veneto / Friuli / Campania weekly. Order whatever they're pouring by the glass first.
