Champs-Élysées & Madeleine
Place de la Madeleine institution since 1839 — Hugo Bourny's contemporary take on the Art Nouveau room.
Alajmo brothers' Paris outpost in an 1834 letterpress — Italian fine dining behind Philippe Starck's restoration.
The Alajmo family — three Michelin stars at Le Calandre in Padova — landed Caffè Stern inside a former letterpress in Passage des Panoramas, a 19th-century covered arcade classified as a historic monument. Philippe Starck handled the restoration: original 1834 woodwork, Murano chandelier, etched-glass partitions. Chef Alessandro Fornaro plates Massimiliano Alajmo's Veneto repertoire alongside his own — vapor-cooked pizza with bottarga and asparagus, lasagnetta amatriciana with toasted-flour pasta, hazelnut-coffee tiramisù. GaultMillau-listed, Michelin Guide-listed. The pasta-trattoria upgrade Istanbul's Italian visitors don't know they need until they sit down.
Alajmo-trained kitchen in a Starck-restored 19th-century letterpress. The room itself is the warm-up course.
