Italian bistrattoria in the 19th-century Passage des Panoramas — Simone Tondo's Michelin-starred room
Racines occupies a corner of the Passage des Panoramas, one of Paris's earliest covered shopping arcades, with original tiling, foxed mirrors and a tiny secret dining room upstairs. Sardinian-born chef Simone Tondo earned the room a Michelin star in 2019 — his cooking is Italian-rooted with French sourcing: vitello tonnato, ricotta ravioli, polpette al sugo, perfect carbonara. Le Fooding gave it the bistrattoria coinage. Lunch is the value play; dinner gets booked by the Bourse crowd. Walk through the passage afterwards — it stays beautiful at night.
Ask for the upstairs room — it's small but the better seat. The wine list rewards letting the room steer.
