Coinstot Vino
Sentier & Bourse
Tiny natural-wine bar inside the covered Passage des Panoramas — a Paris postcard.
Natural-wine cave-à-manger from 2008 — David Lebovitz's pick, pre-trend bona fides.
Open since 2008 on a quiet street between the Louvre and Les Halles, Le Garde Robe was a natural-wine bar before that label became a Paris cliché. The room is small — exposed brick, ancient floorboards, a chalkboard of bio and biodynamique bottles, a counter of charcuterie and cheese. David Lebovitz calls it 'one of my favorite wine bars in Paris.' It survives the touristic tilt of the 1er by being unpretentious and accurate: pour-it-yourself glasses, plates that respect the wine, regulars from the trade. For a visitor wanting the natural-wine Paris that pre-dates Septime, this is the address.
Natural-wine before it was a marketing word. Industry regulars; bring patience for the small room.
