Lukas Mraz — older brother of the Mraz & Sohn pair and former Tantris-line cook — opened Konnex in Neubau in 2022 and earned his first Michelin star within the first guide cycle. The kitchen is open, the room small (twenty-four covers), the menu format a flexible four to seven courses with no fixed sequence. The cooking inherits the family vocabulary — foraging, fermentation, Austrian-grower wine list — but reads slightly more international: a yuzu-cured trout course, a koji-aged duck, a vegetable course that crosses into Levantine without performing it. The 7. Bezirk setting matters: the audience eats at Konnex on the night that does not call for the formal Innere Stadt register.
The MuseumsQuartier is six minutes' walk — Konnex is the natural after-Leopold-Museum dinner. Three weeks ahead is enough except in advent.
