The Barn Roastery
Mitte
Mitte's Auguststraße third-wave roastery — Ralf Rüller, 2010.
Prenzlauer Berg's 2006 third-wave origin roastery — Oderberger Straße.
Bonanza Coffee Roasters is the third-wave roastery Kiduk Reus and Yumi Choi opened on Oderberger Straße in Prenzlauer Berg in 2006 — the early-Berlin third-wave coffee operation that set the template for what came after. The roastery sits on the back of the café space; the espresso programme is calibrated on a La Marzocco; the brew bar runs three filters at any time. The Kreuzberg branch (Adalbertstraße) is the second outlet. For the audience this is the Berlin coffee booking that does for the third-wave register what Man Versus Machine does for Munich.
Order a cortado at the bar. The roastery side of the café reads as the meaningful part — the bag-take-home programme is the morning move.
