La Lorraine opened on Place des Ternes in 1919 to commemorate the return of Alsace-Lorraine to France and has run as a seafood-led brasserie ever since. Laura Gonzalez's recent renovation gave the room a warm contemporary register — XXL terrace facing south, American bar — without dismantling the bones. Rabah Guechoud, three-time Meilleur Écailler de France, runs the shellfish counter; the plateau de fruits de mer is the move. Open every day 8 a.m. to 2 a.m., the brasserie has been written up by Gilles Pudlowski and the Sortir guide as the 17e's reliable Belle-Époque-meets-2025 room. For an Istanbul guest staying near Étoile, this is the seafood dinner that doesn't ask questions.
