Genoese-era fortress holding Erythrai and Bronze-Age Çeşme finds
The seafront fortress above the harbour has served as Çeşme's archaeology museum since 1984, displaying nearly 500 artefacts gathered from the peninsula. Highlights come from the ancient Ionian city of Erythrai (Ildırı) and the Bronze-Age Bağlararası settlement in central Çeşme — including evidence of one of Anatolia's oldest known winemaking buildings. It is the genuine cultural anchor of the town centre.
