Mario Gamba's 'cucina del sole' — one Michelin star, holding it for 25 years
Jugendstil mosaic floors, Modenese aceto, pecorino-marjoram ravioli that's been on the menu since 1999
Acetaia opened in 1999 in a Jugendstil corner shop on Nymphenburger Straße — mosaic floor, glass front, Art Nouveau ceiling, the kind of room that makes the food taste better before it arrives. Chef Giorgio Maetzke runs a serious Italian kitchen; the signature ravioli (pecorino, butter, marjoram, cherry tomato, finished with aceto balsamico tradizionale) has been on the menu since opening for a reason. Wine list runs Italian-deep with French rarities. This is the Italian-night-out the Neuhausen-orbit crowd actually books.
Hood note — strictly Neuhausen-Nymphenburg postal but functionally the eastern axis of the Nymphenburg dining bench; pairs naturally with a Schloss day. Order the ravioli; trust the wine pairing if Maetzke is on the floor.
