Rutz

Rutz is the only restaurant in Berlin to hold three Michelin stars, awarded in 2020 and retained every guide since. Marco Müller runs a tasting-menu programme he calls 'Inspirations' — a sustained reading of German regional sourcing through classical technique. The room sits on Chausseestraße in the northern stretch of Mitte and is deliberately undecorated; the work happens on the plate. The wine programme is one of the most serious in Germany — the building's downstairs Weinbar Rutz operates as a sister room with the same cellar at neo-bistro prices, and is the consolation when the tasting menu is sold out.
