Down a Cihangir side street, Emily's Garden opens onto a hidden inner courtyard shaded by trees and strung with light, the kind of green pocket the neighbourhood keeps to itself. The cooking is easy Mediterranean, the crowd is local and the room fills slowly over long evenings. It is an escape from the street a few metres away rather than a destination, and that is the appeal.
