Augustiner-Bräustuben
Westend-Schwanthalerhöhe
The honest Augustiner — brewery canteen, not the tourist Dom version
Old-Munich Wirtshaus on the Viktualienmarkt edge
On Blumenstraße at the southern edge of the Viktualienmarkt, the Straubinger has held a 19th-century corner with brick-vaulted walls, long shared tables and a small cobbled beer garden. The kitchen carries the full Bavarian register — schnitzel, Schweinshaxe, lake trout, venison stew in season — alongside Augustiner draught and a respectable wine list. A five-minute walk from Marienplatz and the Hofbräuhaus, but the room is the locals'-actually-go answer.
Pair with a Viktualienmarkt morning. The chapter's central Wirtshaus when Schneider Bräuhaus is full and the visitor needs the Bavarian classics three minutes from the market.
