Şahin Motel & Restaurant

Şahin has run from a small private beach in Yalıçiftlik since 1987 — the Şahin family pansiyon and restaurant the locals identify by name rather than signage, eleven rooms above a dining terrace that lands directly on the sand. The kitchen reads as the older-Aegean meze register the peninsula's resort kitchens have priced themselves out of: garden tomato salad with the family's olive oil, octopus on a slow grill, fresh çipura and levrek off the Yalıçiftlik day boat, a short rakı pour and a long evening. The motel side keeps the dining room year-round; the beach is private to motel guests and to dinner reservations on a small-cover register, which is the village marker. Reservation pressure stays low outside the August fortnight; the room is the one a Bodrum-old guest brings out-of-town family to when they want to show Çiftlik as the peninsula was before the marinas. Seven kilometres from Yalıçiftlik centre, twenty minutes from Bodrum town.
